RAGE
RAGE for flute, electronics and live sand animation
The word "RAGE" embodies a profound duality that defines the essence of this artistic endeavour. Beyond its common association with intense anger capable of driving extreme behaviour, it represents something far more transformative: a passionate, uncompromising desire to fully embrace life, regardless of obstacles.
Yet true fulfilment remains elusive without freedom—the fundamental right to live authentically and completely. The RAGE project is dedicated to all individuals who courageously pursue their freedom and fight for their inherent right to live fully.
My lifelong curiosity and fascination with art forms beyond music have always been a driving force in my projects. RAGE emerged not only from its socio-political context but also from a compelling desire to explore visual arts through an analogue lens rather than a digital one.
Watching the plasticity of changing images in the animations of artist Volha Safronava, I was reminded that the fluidity of this visual material seemed remarkably similar to the very nature of sound itself. This discovery became the conceptual foundation for bridging visual and auditory experiences within the project.
Equally fascinating was the opportunity to collaborate with an artist from another discipline, unfamiliar with contemporary classical music, to witness what images the music creates in her imagination.
The RAGE project features works by: Katarina Gryvul, Pasquale Corrado, Santiago Díez-Fischer, Anthony Tan and explores the spectrum of emotions from euphoria to inner emptiness, rage, and hope.
Ultimately, RAGE is a statement about the power of art to channel both our deepest frustrations and our most fervent hopes into something transformative and meaningful.
